In an effort to engage with and reach out to high school students, OCA – Greater Los Angeles Chapter (OCA-GLA) hosts a series of career talks for high school students entitled “Imma Be” to broaden these students’ imaginations about the types of career paths open to them. OCA-GLA has previously completed several talks at Mark Keppel High School (Alhambra, CA), Gabrielino High School (San Gabriel, CA), San Gabriel High School (San Gabriel, CA) and Whitney High School (Cerritos, CA), all of which have predominantly Asian American Pacific Islander student bodies. The speakers have included Loretta So, Administrative Assistant at the Creative Artists Agency; Mae-Fay Yeh, Director of Strategic Development at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; Luca Tseng, co-founder of the Mighty Boba Truck; Joe Jhung, Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual; Mark Pulido, Member of the Cerritos City Council; Matthew Hui, Founder of Fluff Ice; Sam Liu, Campaign Manager for Jay Chen for Congress; and Lee Ha, Senior Product Manager at Live Nation Entertainment.
